The Tecumseh Public Schools Board of Education on March 10 approved several routine but consequential items, including a previously discussed TAA contract, a three-year custodial-services agreement with EnviroClean and two community donations that together total $1,880.
The board voted to approve the TAA contract as presented in the Feb. 24 board packet. Secretary Brooks moved the TAA contract approval; Trustee Miller seconded. The roll-call vote recorded all ayes and no nays.
The board also approved a recommended three-year contract with EnviroClean to provide district custodial services. The RFP evaluation team recommended EnviroClean after a multi-stage review that began with 10 bids and narrowed to five finalists. The contract was presented to the board with a note that the contractor proposes to bring current custodial staff onto the vendor payroll, and that proposed wages and benefits for those staff are higher than the district’s current baseline. Secretary Brooks moved to approve the custodial contract; Trustee Martinez seconded. The board voted aye on the motion.
Board members also accepted two gifts to the district: $880 from the Tecumseh Herald for the middle school art department and $1,000 from Kerchoff in support of the Tecumseh robotics program. Motions to accept the gifts carried on unanimous roll-call votes.
The consent agenda, which included the Feb. 24 meeting minutes, was approved by roll call with all ayes.
The recorded votes in this meeting were unanimous and are reflected in the district minutes.
