Linn County supervisors approved a block motion appointing representatives and alternates to several watershed management authorities, and trustees and clerks for township offices.
The board named Cara Madison to the Bridal Cedar Watershed Management Authority and the Lower Cedar Watershed Management Authority (with alternate Stephanie Lehi and alternate Mike Turninger respectively); Mike Turninger was appointed to the Indian Creek Watershed Management Authority (alternate Kara Madison); Dennis Gourmet was appointed to the Upper Wapsipininkn (Wapsipinicon) Watershed Management Authority (alternate Kara Madison); John Gallagher was appointed to the Maquoketa Watershed Management Authority (alternate Kara Madison). The board also appointed Troy Wallace as Marion Township Trustee (term expires Jan. 1, 2029), Brad Stoner as Lynn Township Trustee (term expires Jan. 1, 2029) and Tony Feder as Fayette Township Clerk (term expires Jan. 1, 2029). The list of appointments and alternates will be entered into the minutes.
A supervisor asked for clarification about alternates and staff read back the alternates list before the board voted. The block motion carried by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
