During the Feb. 25 meeting the Peachtree City Council approved a set of formal actions the staff described as emergency infrastructure repairs and routine budget amendments.
Braylin Court emergency pipe replacement The council approved an emergency replacement of a failing storm pipe at 114 Braylin Court. Staff said the failing pipe is adjacent to a home and posed a risk to the residence’s foundation. The work was awarded to Crawford Grading & Pipeline Inc. for $45,624.02, to be paid from the stormwater utility pipelining account. The council made and seconded a motion and approved the award by voice vote; the record shows the motion carried and staff said funds were available.
Parkgate Court (dam structure) emergency pipe replacement Council approved emergency work to repair severely deteriorated pipe under a dam at Parkgate Court, where staff reported ongoing erosion and the risk of a dam breach that could damage the road or flood downstream homes. Staff received two bids and recommended Crawford Grading & Pipeline Inc. The council approved the award for $313,140 by voice vote.
Budget amendments and sponsorship acceptance Council approved a fiscal-year amendment to reflect $27,500 additional hotel-motel revenue collections and corresponding passthrough expenditures (budget amendment 2430). The council also approved acceptance of a $1,000 sponsorship from Mahaffey and Lincoln Orthodontics for a city father-daughter dance and authorized a related general-fund budget amendment.
Votes and procedural notes All actions were approved by voice vote. Staff confirmed funds for the emergency pipe repairs are available in the stormwater utility account and that the hotel-motel revenue was above projections and requires corresponding expenditure adjustments. No roll-call tallies were recorded in the minutes provided.
