Peachtree City staff introduced a proposed memorandum of understanding Oct. 12 with Southern Crescent Technical College and Strayer University to expand higher-education access for city employees.
Staff said the partnerships would offer exclusive tuition discounts, online and in-person course options, career-focused programs and industry-relevant training designed to support employees’ professional growth and the city’s workforce needs. “Through these partnerships, our employees will benefit from discounted tuition… flexible learning options, online, and in person courses, to accommodate our employees' various schedules,” a city staff member said.
Staff characterized the initiative as an investment in employee retention and engagement and invited council questions. No formal action was taken at the work session because a quorum was not present.
