The planning board accepted a request from the applicant to withdraw, without prejudice, the special-permit application for expansion of the commercial marijuana facility known as Paper Crane at 56 Gardner Road.
Planner Alec told the board the applicant’s engineer submitted a letter requesting withdrawal because Paper Crane had not secured a host community agreement with the town. Board members said negotiating a host community agreement with the Select Board was a prerequisite for proceeding; several members noted the cost and engineering work required to proceed without certainty on the host agreement.
A motion to accept the withdrawal without prejudice was made and seconded; the board approved by roll call: Stack, aye; Mister Steiger, aye; Mister Russell, aye; the chair, aye. The withdrawal leaves the applicant free to reapply later, subject to any conditions the town or Select Board may impose regarding a host community agreement.
