Millis committees endorse Al Votour for appointment to building committees

The Town of Millis’ School Building Committee and Permanent Building Committee on March 19 voted unanimously to forward resident Al Votour’s name to the Select Board for appointment to both committees.
Al Votour introduced himself at the start of the meeting and described 22 years of experience in commercial construction with John Moriarty & Associates and said he has four children in the Millis school system. Committee members said his background on large projects would be an asset if the school project advances.
The motion to forward Votour’s name was made and seconded and carried by voice vote; the committee noted the Select Board must formally appoint him and that he will be sworn in and complete required online ethics training before serving.
Votour will join the committees’ ongoing schematic-design work and public outreach once the Select Board completes the appointment and the town administers the swearing-in and required training.
