The Johnson County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Thursday to approve its agenda and a consent agenda that included $2,225,203.02 in claims, and to appoint two people to the county Zoning Board of Adjustment.
The actions took place at the board’s Jan. 2, 2025, meeting, which was called to order and conducted with five supervisors in attendance. Supervisor Sullivan moved to approve the agenda; Supervisor Fixmer seconded the motion, and the board approved it by roll call.
The board then approved the consent agenda, which the clerk said included $2,225,203.02 in claims to be paid. The consent motion was moved by Supervisor Greene Douglas and seconded by Supervisor Sullivan; the roll call vote recorded five ayes and the motion carried.
On appointments to the Zoning Board of Adjustment, the board announced a work consensus to appoint Ashley Platts to a five-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2025, and expiring Dec. 31, 2029, and to appoint Adam Hahn to fill a vacancy described as a five-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2025, and expiring Dec. 31, 2025. Supervisor Fixmer moved approval of the appointments and Supervisor Greene Douglas seconded; the board approved the appointments by roll call.
Supervisors used the remainder of the brief meeting for routine reports, including a note that three supervisors had been sworn in earlier in the week and welcome remarks to newly seated Supervisor Remington. With no public comment and no additional business, the board adjourned.
