Supervisors flag heavy January calendar, staff to send Outlook invites and adjust liaisons

County staff told the Board of Supervisors Jan. 8 that January will include an unusually heavy slate of meetings and that staff will circulate Outlook invitations and agenda materials to coordinate schedules.
Erin, a board staff member, said she will send Outlook appointments for upcoming meetings and noted, “We got 11 meetings coming up the next 2 weeks.” She went through multiple budget work sessions, a joint-entities meeting the board will host, a county assessor meeting and a county conference board meeting scheduled for Jan. 21 in the Betty Sause Room.
Supervisors discussed quorum and liaison scheduling: several upcoming budget sessions are half-day meetings and staff asked for patience as liaison meetings are rescheduled. The board clarified some start times and said the county assessor and certain committee assignments generally require three supervisors but do not always need a full board in attendance.
The county also noted it will participate in the Urban County Coalition’s legislative session calls, but there were no substantive UCC updates at the Jan. 8 meeting.
No votes or formal actions were taken on scheduling during the meeting; staff will continue to circulate calendar invitations and agendas.
