Molly Miller, deputy director for child welfare, joined remotely and said she was not able to answer the fiscal-detail questions immediately but offered to follow up. The sponsor said the committee could hold the bill and repost it; members agreed. “If it’s okay, I’d like to hold this,” the sponsor said, and the committee agreed to repost.
Committee members questioned whether updating the pamphlet should require substantial new staffing. The sponsor said the current pamphlet is misleading and that the committee wants to ensure parents can exercise their rights. The committee closed the work session on this item and said the bill will be reposted for later consideration.
