City staff presented ordinance 2514 at agenda review seeking to amend the comprehensive plan to add policies for the Central Park Parkway East corridor and include the corridor in the plan’s transportation map series.
Staff said the amendment would require staff to work with development projects in the corridor to preserve right-of-way as properties develop, similar to prior actions taken to protect Thompson Nursery Road during the Veil Mar project. The change is administrative in nature and intended to guide right-of-way preservation as development occurs.
Commissioners asked for more frequent pavement-condition and road-mapping updates; staff said it could provide pavement condition-index updates semiannually and pointed to the upcoming TIP schedule in the summer months. No final vote occurred at agenda review; the ordinance is at first-reading stage and will return for formal consideration.
