Staff explained the property lay outside the Main Street business district and so required the commission's preapproval. The staff presentation noted the wall is stucco and could be painted and that the same artist had completed a nearby mural. "Zachary has approval of a mural at this location," a staff member said. Commissioners praised the design during discussion: one said, "Well, I think it'll look fabulous." The commission approved the mural by voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded.
Staff and commissioners discussed that the approved artwork wraps around a corner and complements an existing larger mural on the adjacent wall. The applicant planned to begin work the following Monday, according to the meeting record.
