"I really appreciate it," Bettis said, and added that he considers Erlanger home: "I work here. You know, I'm an Erlanger guy now. 100%." He thanked the police, fire and public-works departments as frequent customers and supporters.
The mayor and council members praised Bettis's dedication. The mayor also thanked him for his willingness to serve on the Board of Adjustments, and council members acknowledged the owner's community ties. The business-spotlight presentation included a short video produced by staff showing the restaurant's history and ties to the city.
The spotlight was presented as a civic recognition item; no formal council action was required.
