The Erlanger City Council used its Jan. 7 meeting to spotlight Greek to Me, a longtime local restaurant at 3415 Dixie Highway.
Marco (city staff) introduced a short video about the business and then invited owner George Bettis to speak. Bettis said he has been in business 25 years, described the restaurant as his "first baby," and thanked customers and employees for the restaurant's success. "I really appreciate it," Bettis said, and added that he considers Erlanger home: "I work here. You know, I'm an Erlanger guy now. 100%." He thanked the police, fire and public-works departments as frequent customers and supporters.
The mayor and council members praised Bettis's dedication. The mayor also thanked him for his willingness to serve on the Board of Adjustments, and council members acknowledged the owner's community ties. The business-spotlight presentation included a short video produced by staff showing the restaurant's history and ties to the city.
The spotlight was presented as a civic recognition item; no formal council action was required.
