The Colleton County School District Committee of the Whole approved the meeting agenda by motion and a show-of-hands vote at the start of the March 11 session, with all board members present and the motion carried. The meeting later ended after a motion to adjourn was approved by the board.
Several substantive items were discussed but not acted on and are scheduled for formal action at next week’s regular meeting: the annual bond resolution (a not-to-exceed $16,000,000 draft), the math textbook adoption recommendations, proposed policy GCEC (posting and advertising professional vacancies) on first reading, and superintendent recommendations to forgive several inclement-weather days and to set two half days for community/graduation events.
The board chair reminded members about upcoming small-group meetings with the superintendent and the stateschool boards' Day at the Capitol and asked members to sign up if they can attend.
