Baldwin said a Books Are Fun drive helped the school raise roughly $8,846 and the company supplemented the rest so every student received at least one book.
Teachers and staff described classroom-level instruction, ASD supports and a school-run mock election that engages students in civic learning. Matthew Enoch, an eighth-grade teacher, said the mock election uses ballots for every student and student volunteers to tabulate results, and that the school uses field trips as behavioral incentives (students with high behavior marks qualify; others can improve via daily behavior tracking).
Baldwin also noted the school has a therapy dog, Mr. Cody J, to help reduce stress and support behavior goals. The principal said Boerne plans additional partnerships and programming to maintain growth in reading and behavior metrics.
