The City Council approved several consent and routine items at the Sept. 20 meeting.
Parks and Recreation Division Director Corey Collins presented a resolution to convert two outdoor tennis courts at River Hills Park into six pickleball courts. The council approved the agreement with Moore Sports Group for $37,094.72, the single bid received for the work, with staff citing available parking and restrooms at the park as site advantages.
Police Chief Ken Albano presented a resolution to renew the city's annual maintenance agreement with Communications International for public safety radio system support. The 12-month renewal beginning Oct. 1 carries a cost of $58,408.20 and is budgeted in the Police Department radio maintenance account.
Council also adopted Ordinance 15-32 on second reading to revise Chapter 22 (Solid Waste) section 22-3-40 to clarify the time containers may be at the curb. The adopted wording sets limits on when residents may place containers at the curb: they shall not be placed earlier than one hour prior to sunset the day before collection and must be removed by sunset on the day of collection (the text was adopted as amended by council motion).
All three measures passed without recorded opposition.
