Council appoints Nathan Johnson and Nina Wolfson to Temple Terrace Library Board

The Temple Terrace City Council appointed Nathan Johnson and Nina Wolfson to fill two unexpired terms on the Library Board during its Sept. 20 meeting.
Clerk announced four applicants for two vacancies created by unexpired terms. Applicants present who addressed the council included Catherine Paylor Amaya and Nina Wolfson; Nathan Johnson was not present. Council members cast ballots; the clerk reported four votes for Nathan Johnson and three votes split among other applicants, producing a tie for the remaining seat between Catherine Paylor Amaya and Nina Wolfson. A second ballot among those two produced three votes for Wolfson.
Council made a motion to appoint Nathan Johnson to the longer remaining term and Nina Wolfson to the shorter unexpired term, the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote with no nays. The clerk said the city will update board application forms to collect additional applicant information and ensure ADA compliance.
The appointed members will serve the terms specified in the agenda: one appointment for the term ending Dec. 21, 2024 (longer term) and the other through Sept. 3, 2023 (shorter unexpired term).
