Claims and payments The board approved a resolution authorizing the county auditor to issue payments for claims totaling $497,181.66, including $2,975.06 from a specified fund. County staff said there were no unusual items in the bill list.
La Porte Road Shop ventilation repairs The board approved a contract with Hudson Hardwood Plumbing & Heating Inc. of Hudson, Iowa, for ventilation repairs at the La Porte Road Shop in the amount of $19,477.39. County staff said the work is part of a larger building-repair effort that included roof insulation and a spray-applied sealer; this contract adds ventilation fans and carbon monoxide sensors.
Digital advertising campaign for recruitment (Pixel Labs) The board approved a contract with Pixel Labs not to exceed $40,000 to run a digital and television advertising recruitment campaign for county positions. The clerk announced a contract will be prepared for the chair to sign. Transcript roll call recorded Supervisor Grant voting "no" and Supervisors Leland, Kerpenbach and Paul voting "yes." The board recorded the motion as carried.
Facilities pickup truck The board approved the purchase of a 3/4-ton pickup (2025 Ram 2500) from Stu Hansen in the amount of $41,922 as the lowest responsible quote; staff said the county had budgeted $50,000 for the vehicle.
Commercial washers and dryers for jail The board approved the purchase and installation of two commercial washers and two commercial dryers for the jail from Weinberg Supply and Equipment (Minneapolis) in the amount of $88,400. Staff recommended the middle bid because it met specifications (including stainless-steel drums) and larger capacity despite being above the budgeted $80,000.
Elected-officials pay As part of the FY26 budget discussion, the board voted to retain a 10% across-the-board pay adjustment for elected officials in the proposed budget package. The motion carried by voice vote.
