Board hires Zeal to run superintendent search; consultant plans public engagement

Melendez said the firm will conduct targeted outreach to community groups (including the Catawba Nation) and hold virtual and in‑person town halls and a virtual comment opportunity using a thought‑exchange platform. He said his team is working with district communications staff to maintain a segment of the district website and a weekly board brief that will include search updates.
Melendez gave the public contact email and web page to collect input and applications: rockhill@zeal-ed.com and z0-v.com/rockhill (these were read on the record by the consultant). He encouraged broad participation from staff, parents and community stakeholders and said the search team will provide regular updates to the board.
Board members asked that the consultant post periodic updates in the board brief and the district agreed. No hiring decision was made at the March 11 meeting; the item was an update on process and outreach.
