County staff outlines strategic-plan update and previews new county website rollout

Interim Administrator Derek updated the Finance Standing Committee on two administrative items: a strategic-plan review and a county website redesign.
On the strategic plan, Derek said much of the last plan had been accomplished and that the document now needs review and amendment to reflect changed circumstances. He recommended engaging the Southwest Regional Planning Commission — which helped draft the last plan — to lead an update, and suggested that project work be timed for April after a permanent administrator is in place.
On the county website, committee members heard that the county selected Catalyst as the vendor for a redesign. Jason has assumed the role of MIS director following Barb’s retirement. Staff described a two-step rollout: first, conversion of the design into coded pages, then phased activation of departmental upload functionality for agendas and forms. A tentative rollout target of fall 2025 was given, with the caveat that some features (such as full agenda-management tools) may come online later as major technical projects finish.
Supervisors asked for opportunities to review mock-ups and to be consulted on desired functionality for their departments. Staff said departments would be asked for input and that the design’s core framework is being built first, followed by departmental feature integration.
Derek said he will reconnect the new administrator with the regional planning contact to move the strategic-plan update forward once staffing is finalized.
