Cannon Falls Library to migrate to Selco catalog; patrons advised to bring cards during transition

The Cannon Falls Public Library told the City Council March 18 that it will migrate to the Selco shared library catalog with an official go-live date of May 1.
Library staff said the last day to check items into the current Horizon system is Saturday, April 26. The library will be open April 28–30 but its catalog will be offline during that period; staff can perform checkouts using an offline circulation module but cannot process interlibrary-loan deliveries. On May 1 the library will open at noon while staff complete uploads and the transition to the new system. Patrons were asked to bring their library cards (physical or in the Selco app with barcodes) to speed transactions during the migration.
The library director also warned that a pending federal executive order to disband the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) could affect funding streams that support statewide services: Minitex (which receives LSTA funding and supports interlibrary loan and statewide resources) and eLibrary Minnesota were cited as programs that could lose funding and would therefore affect local library services. The city said it does not yet know the specific local impact but highlighted the possible consequences for interlibrary loan, online databases and e-rate-funded Internet services.
