The Village of Manhattan Board of Trustees approved a three‑year collective bargaining agreement March 18 between the village and the Illinois Council of Police covering Manhattan part‑time patrol officers.
Trustee Neighbors and Police Chief Gully negotiated the contract, which covers three officers currently employed as part‑time patrol officers. The contract term begins immediately after the existing agreement’s expiration and runs through April 30, 2028. Under the new agreement the part‑time officers will receive a $2 per hour pay increase in each year of the three‑year contract.
The board voted on a resolution approving the contract; roll call showed recorded yes votes from Young, Dilling, Beamsterboer, Adamski, Doyle and Neighbors. Trustees recorded no recorded no votes or abstentions in the roll call reported in the meeting.
The resolution authorizes staff to execute the contract and implement payroll changes to reflect the negotiated increases.
