Public works highlights regional sewer interceptor, TIF funding and Amazon site updates

At a joint meeting of the Public Works and Utilities commissions, staff described a regional sanitary sewer interceptor that will run from Vilas through the old farm golf course to serve the final phase of Coyle South and provide relief to the village's existing sewer system.
"There's actually easements through the farm golf course, for that interceptor," a staff member explained. The interceptor is included as a potential project in TIF District Number 8. Staff said the residential portion of the final phase of Coyle South — 16 homes — would satisfy the TIF district's obligations toward the project, with future developers paying their normal mains and the TIF picking up upsizing costs beyond that.
Staff also reported that the Amazon project held a preconstruction meeting for utilities and had submitted final traffic documents to state and county jurisdictions; design of roadway improvements is pending those jurisdictions' approvals. Other utility items discussed included a new flow meter at Well 3, preliminary design for Well 2, relocation of a village-owned water main on Hydrite's property, and SCADA upgrades.
