Trustees approved the low bid from Parisi Construction for the village's 2025 Streets and Pedestrian Improvements project and selected Alternative 3 โ pedestrian improvements at the Main Street, Wheeler Bridge and Taylor Street intersection โ instead of higher-cost options.
Staff reported the low base bid from Parisi Construction was roughly $1.39 million and came in under budget expectations. The public works committee recommended dropping several alternatives because of cost, including a Bonnie Road/Progress Drive intersection redo and a wider railing option, and moving forward with pedestrian-focused improvements at the Main Street intersection.
"Just due to cost, the only alternative the Public Works Committee decided to go with was alternative 3, which was the pedestrian improvements for Main Street, Wheeled Bridge and Taylor Street," a staff member said. Board members approved the bid award and accompanying budget language; staff said the chosen approach leaves capacity to address larger intersection changes later as part of future planning.
