Teacher Zoe Lutz, a fifth‑grade teacher at Wixom, told the board she is “questioning longevity” in the job because of circumstances “beyond my control.” Several other teachers attended the meeting and were described by parents as visibly upset.
The concerns reached the board during the public‑comment period and again when the board considered the monthly consent agenda. Board member Mrs. Fernandez moved to remove the consent agenda’s resignations item for separate discussion. The board approved that amendment 6‑0. After discussion, Mrs. Fernandez moved that the resignations be approved “as presented with the stipulation that the Wixom Elementary resignations be investigated by the administration and reported back to the board.” The motion was seconded by Mrs. Levin and passed 6‑0.
