A Page County resident urged the board to prioritize surfacing a local road, saying neighbors had been told it would be blacktopped.
Daryl Weidner, who identified himself as living east and south of Jam Law, told the board residents thought “we had been promised to have the road blacked off right east and south of Shamrock,” and asked how the county decides which roads get work first. “We’re tired of the gravel dust,” Weidner said.
A board member replied that the county uses a five-year plan developed with the county engineer to set priorities and that the plan is reviewed annually. The board said it would “keep that in mind” and asked staff to follow up with JD (the county engineer) when available. The chair noted JD had an appointment and might not be at the meeting but said the board would ask him to consider Weidner’s request.
The board did not take formal action on the request during the meeting and instead directed that the concern be forwarded to engineering staff for consideration in the county’s maintenance planning.
