Erin, a finance staff member, presented the proposed fiscal year 2025 budget calendar and asked the Mayor and commissioners to review key dates and confirm availability. The electronic draft was proposed to be released to commissioners on a Monday in April, followed by two special budget meetings proposed for Thursday, May 8 and Tuesday, May 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., a budget hearing at the May 8 meeting, and tentative approval at the regular May 20 meeting; staff requested a fallback special meeting on May 22 if additional time is needed.
The calendar presentation noted the May 5 regular meeting is the charter provision date for swearing in newly elected commissioners and asked commissioners to confirm there were no conflicts with local high school graduations. Erin said staff had checked area graduation schedules (Pioneer, Enid, Waucoma, Chisholm, OVA) and found no conflicts with the proposed dates.
Commissioners were asked to bring prior binders if they wished; staff offered to replace materials with the new draft when it is distributed. No formal vote was taken; the commission placed the schedule on members' calendars and asked staff to proceed with the timeline unless members report conflicts.
