Council approves mayoral slate of appointments and reappointments to boards and commissions

The Lacey City Council on March 18 unanimously approved a slate of reappointments and new appointments recommended by Mayor Andy Ryder to advisory boards and commissions.
Mayor Ryder first moved to reappoint the deputy mayor to the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee and to reappoint Hilary Dykstra to the Parks, Culture and Recreation Board; council carried the motion unanimously. The mayor then presented a slate of first-time appointments to the Planning Commission, Library Board, Parks, Culture and Recreation Board and the Human Services Commission; council approved those appointments by voice vote.
Several appointees present briefly introduced themselves after the vote. Jennifer Mangione said she was appointed to the Planning Commission and noted she had been accepted to a graduate program in community planning at the University of Washington Tacoma. Azza Noon thanked the council on her appointment to the Library Board. Annette Roth, appointed to the Parks, Culture and Recreation Board, said she has a background in arts and culture work across Washington. Yvette Temple said she was honored to be appointed to the Human Services Commission and described prior nonprofit board service.
Council and the mayor thanked all applicants and noted the city had a strong pool of candidates.
