Staff reported an end‑of‑2024 balance in the solid‑waste fund of roughly $282,000 and said the city may receive one more reimbursement from Ecology before the city fully assumes the monitoring costs.
At the meeting staff read resolution number 1369Dash0225, “a resolution of the city of Shelton, Washington committing to budget for post construction monitoring at the C Street Landfill,” and a council member moved to place it on the April 1 consent agenda for further consideration; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote.
Staff said current monitoring shows no immediate need for remedial work but that future sampling could identify issues requiring additional action and funding. The city intends to fund the monitoring from the solid‑waste fund and, if costs exceed that fund in later years, to budget the costs in the general fund.
