The survey and the completed plan will guide follow-up actions and further communication with stakeholders.
The superintendent also announced a district website relaunch scheduled for the week of spring break and noted the district will publicize new communication tools included in the site and solicit stakeholder feedback.
In the superintendent's celebratory remarks, the board recognized District 128 athletes and alumni who competed at state and international events: the District 128 Unified Basketball team finished second at the IHSA State Championship; 2015 graduate Mallory Marvin won a bronze medal in the 50-meter snowshoe event at the Special Olympics World Winter Games in Turin, Italy; and Libertyville High School students Eli Cui and Eddie Lee advanced to the national American Chemistry Society exam after top regional scores.
The Title IX action plan and the locker-room survey are the initial steps the district is using to finalize operational details; the superintendent said the action plan is attached to the meeting agenda and that implementation has already begun in limited ways. The board will be updated in future meetings as the district reviews survey results and completes additional steps in the plan.
