BOISE — The Joint Finance‑Appropriations Committee approved two technical corrections during its session: a clarification for the Department of Administration’s use of the Permanent Building Fund and a correction to a Department of Lands appropriation recorded earlier.
An analyst explained that when the committee set the Department of Administration’s FY2026 budget, it intended to provide funding for the governor’s housing stipend from the Permanent Building Fund, which is established in law to provide for maintenance and construction of state facilities. The correction “ensures that that funding can be used for its intended purpose for the governor's housing stipend,” an analyst told the panel.
Later, Janet Jessup, budget and policy analyst, explained that a correction requested for the Department of Lands fixed an inadvertent omission: an enhancement had been included in the motion table but was omitted from the written motion text; the adjustment netted to zero and had no general‑fund impact or change to full‑time personnel counts. Representative Manwaring moved the net‑zero salary‑split adjustment and the motion passed unanimously by roll call.
