At the March Planning Commission meeting the commissioners recorded the following formal recommendations and votes. Several items will move to City Council for first and second reading as applicable.
- Items 1–2 (minutes and preliminary plat PP‑2425‑10 for Charleston Ridge addition): Motion to approve minutes and preliminary plat carried 7–0 on the record.
- Item 3 (Certificate of Survey COS‑24255‑9 for Ranch on Robinson, 54.067 acres): Staff called for a motion; the commission voted to approve the certificate of survey. (Transcript shows vote in favor; recorded roll call includes "Yes" votes from multiple commissioners.)
- Items 4–5 (Resolution R‑2425‑81 and Ordinance O‑2425‑24 to amend land use and rezone 271030 Sixth Ave NW to O‑1 for dental and construction offices): Motion carried 7–0. See separate article for details.
- Items 6–8 (Resolution R‑2425‑91, Ordinance O‑2425‑26 and preliminary plat PP‑2425‑8 for Tecumseh Road Storage, 281 W. Tecumseh Rd): Commission approved recommendation to council 6–0; one commissioner recused from these items. See separate article for project commitments and public comment.
- Items 9–11 (Resolution R‑2425‑92, Ordinance O‑2425‑27 and preliminary plat PP‑2425‑9 for North Norman Village, ~30.76 acres near I‑35 and W. Indian Hills Rd): Motion to recommend approval carried 6–0 (one commissioner recused). The commission amended the preliminary plat to allow 2‑foot front setbacks on applicant‑identified rear‑access streets; the applicant agreed to show the change on the plat forwarded to council.
- Items 12–13 (Resolution R‑2425‑93 and Ordinance O‑2425‑28 to move a parcel at 2919 Classen into an institutional/PUD designation and allow a lot‑line adjustment for Life Church): Motion carried 7–0. Staff said the applicant intends a right‑in/right‑out driveway and will process a lot‑line adjustment to merge parcels.
Recusals and procedure
At the start of the meeting the chair announced one commissioner would recuse from several items: the chair read a request for recusal for "Commissioner McCowan" (transcript spelling varies) for items 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11; the commission acted to allow the recusal and proceeded with those items on the consent or non‑consent dockets as noted.
What happens next
All recommended items will be scheduled for city‑council readings and final action; applicants control submittal timing for council scheduling. Staff noted several items will have permit‑level conditions (lighting plan, drainage engineering, landscaping and building materials) that will be reviewed during permitting.
