The Lewiston School Committee on March 19 unanimously approved the nomination of Amy St. Pierre to serve as special‑education assistant principal at Connors Elementary School.
Principal Deb Rodring introduced St. Pierre to the committee, praising her “commitment to professional development” and saying St. Pierre “deeply values the importance of building positive relationships with students, families, and community stakeholders.” Assistant Director Michelle Winslow told the committee the special‑education team was “really excited about the level of experience Amy has” and her “passion for inclusion.”
Amy St. Pierre spoke briefly before the vote: “I’m Amy St. Pierre. I’ve been in education for 25 years in lots of different realms. I was born and raised in Lewiston, went through the Lewiston School System, so I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to return back home.”
Member Hurd moved to approve the nomination and Chairwoman Megan Parks seconded the motion. Chairwoman Parks called the vote and said, “It is unanimous.” The committee did not record a roll‑call tally in the meeting transcript; the recorded outcome was unanimous approval.
The appointment fills the special‑education assistant principal role at Connors and, according to presenters, complements the principal’s emphasis on team‑based leadership and data‑driven instructional coaching. The committee took no further formal action beyond the appointment at the meeting.
The committee moves next to other agenda items, including budget presentations and policy readings.
