FHWA resumes in‑house TIP review; TPO work program and household survey updates
Summary
FHWA staff told the committee that TIP amendments no longer require headquarters review, speeding processing. At the end of the March 11 meeting FHWA and TPO updates covered several administrative items.
Troy Everett reported that FHWA has resumed in‑house review of TIP amendments and no longer needs to route those packets to headquarters for extra review, which should speed processing. Doug Burton (TPO coordinator) noted the Executive Board meeting is scheduled for March 26, 2025, and the next technical committee on April 8; staff said the March 26 date might shift and will be announced. Burton also said household travel survey letters will go to sampled households at the end of the month and asked members to help confirm the survey’s legitimacy if constituents call.
TPO staff reminded members that the TIP/project call produced more project requests than available funds and that staff will follow up with sponsors on application questions and schedule considerations as the TPO prepares the next TIP and work program.
