County staff reviewed two personnel items Wednesday: a revised job description for an office coordinator in the County Attorney’s Office and a revised Field Worker I description for the Conservation Department.
County Attorney Office representatives said a longstanding office manager role had been reworked into two positions in 2022, and that subsequent changes to case‑management systems and staff turnover prompted a reexamination of duties. Rachel (County Attorney’s Office) told supervisors the new office coordinator role reflects additional business and Workday responsibilities and that Human Resources reviewed the position, which resulted in a change of pay grade but no immediate budget increase.
Human resources and Conservation Department staff also presented a revised Field Worker I job description to capture both custodial duties and outdoor conservation activities. Ines, the county employment manager, and Brad Broadl (Conservation director) explained the revision is intended to align duties with current practice, ensure staff are compensated fairly for expanded duties and provide a clearer development path for employees who advance into conservation roles.
Supervisors asked for an organizational chart from Conservation showing program staff structure as the department continues hiring for the busy season. Both job descriptions were put on the formal meeting agenda for board consideration the following day; no formal approvals were taken at the work session.
