Supervisors raise concerns about state bills on lobbyists, police oversight and veterans funding

Supervisors also flagged two House study bills (27 and 28, as noted in the meeting) that would change veterans-services funding; one bill would eliminate the standard $10,000 county allocation and consolidate that funding at the state level, a change the supervisors said could significantly affect smaller counties’ veteran-services operations.
Supervisors asked staff to monitor those bills and to consult with the county veterans-services director about the potential impact. They said they would raise questions with UCC contacts and follow up on the legislative digest ahead of the UCC call.
