Glynn County opens bids for NOAA emergency weather radios and housing market study

Glynn County procurement staff publicly opened bids for IFB 25-018, a NOAA emergency weather radio procurement, and RFP 25-045, a housing market analysis and housing action plan, announcing three bids for the radio solicitation and six bids for the housing study.

The bid opening was led by Nikki Thompson, procurement analyst for the Glynn County Board of Commissioners, who said the event was open to the public and streamed on the county’s YouTube channel. Thompson said all paperwork will be reviewed by procurement staff and the project manager and that the county reserves the right to waive technicalities and make an award in the county’s best interest.

Why it matters: the NOAA radios are a county preparedness purchase and the housing market analysis will inform a county housing action plan. Thompson said the lowest responsive bid may not be the recommended awardee after county review; a bid tabulation sheet will be posted to the Glynn County website and the recommended award will be presented first to the finance committee and then to the full Board of Commissioners.

For IFB 25-018 (NOAA emergency weather radios) procurement announced three bids and their totals: Coastal Preparedness Supply of Brunswick, Georgia, bidding $60,000.00; Line Drive Logistics of Saint Johns, Florida, bidding $49,500.00; and Midland Radio Corporation of Kansas City, Missouri, bidding $39,225.00. Thompson stated the county received three bids for that solicitation.

For RFP 25-045 (Housing Market Analysis and Housing Action Plan) procurement announced six proposals and their firms and locations: Blue Star Holdings International LLC (Hollywood, Florida); Ethan Jackson Investments (Cairo, Georgia); KB Advisory Group (Atlanta, Georgia); Mosaic Community Planning (Atlanta, Georgia); Real Estate Management And Preservation LLC (Dallas, Georgia); and t p m a (Indianapolis, Indiana). Thompson said the county received six bids for the housing study solicitation.

Thompson told attendees to sign the attendance sheet if they were participating in person and advised bidders to sign up for bid alerts on the county website. She provided a contact email in the announcement for follow-up questions and said the bid tabulation will be posted "as soon as it's available." Thompson also noted that procurement and the project manager will review submissions for accuracy and completion before a recommendation is made.

No awards, motions, or votes were taken at the bid opening. Thompson said the recommended award will next be considered by the finance committee and then at a future meeting of the Board of Commissioners; she did not specify dates for those meetings.
