Provo council approves annexation, zoning changes and development agreements; airport industrial rezone passes 6-1

The Provo City Council on Jan. 14 approved a package of land-use and zoning measures that city staff said will guide development along several corridors and address long-standing sites on the city's west and northeast sides.
The council approved by unanimous votes ordinances to annex roughly 15.6 acres near 1000 North Lakeview Parkway and to update rules for flag lots and other technical standards. Those items passed with little public opposition and were presented by city planning staff.
Airport-area rezone: The council approved, 6-1, a zone map amendment to change a 25-acre tract near 3450 West Center Street to Provo's airport industrial (AI) zone for a flex industrial campus.
