Milton BZA amends agenda and approves February minutes after quorum clarification

Board members identified that with four members present, the bylaws required a majority of those voting when a quorum exists and staff said three affirmative votes were needed for passage under the bylaws. The board voted to move the minutes item to later in the order so absent members could be present; that motion passed unanimously. After conducting other business, the board resumed the minutes item and voted to approve the Feb. 18, 2025 minutes by voice vote; the motion was recorded as passing unanimously.
Board members discussed that there was no prohibition on members who were absent from the original meeting voting on the minutes, but some expressed a preference to wait until absent members could participate. The board ultimately proceeded with a vote the same evening.
