"The Mount Vernon Corridor Improvement Project is reaching its halfway point, on its way to becoming a beautiful corridor of sidepaths and sidewalks lining the roadway all the way to the Sandy Springs MARTA Station," Public Works staff said.
Officials said a temporary crosswalk has been installed near Mount Vernon Presbyterian School and gravel pathways guide pedestrians through the construction zone. They acknowledged that some detours may be inconvenient but described them as "placed thoughtfully and purposefully to protect everyone during ongoing construction." The update directed residents to project updates at spr.gsmvc and to the city's social media channels for further information.
