Crosby ISD construction update: CHS classroom and CTE additions progressing; stadium mostly complete

Robert Arsmall, representing LEM, gave the board a construction update covering the Crosby High School classroom addition (Building A), the CTE addition (Building B), interior work on the existing campus (large-group instruction space) and the Cougar Stadium turf and track.

Arsmall said exterior work is progressing, with metal panels to begin and "about 95% complete with all the windows and doors," and that first coats of primer have been sprayed in classrooms. He described the CTE welding lab as having ductwork and electrical panels installed and said the large-group-instruction space has an air handler in place with water piping run to it.

On the Cougar Stadium turf and track, Arsmall said phases 1 and 2 are complete but one long-lead punch-list item remains. When a trustee asked about an anticipated opening date for the new classrooms, Arsmall said, "We're contractually obligated 11/18/2025." He also described measures taken to reduce construction impacts on staff and traffic: the contractor was instructed not to park in front of the school, designated parking and pick-up arrangements were established, and barriers and sandbags were installed to keep water off sidewalks during heavy rains.

Trustees asked about parking and about color options for repainting campus exteriors; Arsmall said two campuses were prioritized for repainting because the red paint had faded and that color-scheme options—red paired with neutral tones—had been prepared for superintendent review.

Questions from trustees were answered during the presentation; no formal board action on the construction update was recorded in the transcript.
