Duncanville ISD awards classroom technology RFP; Lenovo laptops, Hovercam stations and interactive panels chosen

The Duncanville ISD Board of Trustees approved the district’s Classroom Teaching and Learning Request for Proposal (RFP 2024-25.003) by a 6-0 vote, selecting three vendors to supply interactive flat panels, laptops, document cameras, mobile teaching stations and charging solutions.
District staff said the RFP requirements were developed over two years by the Technology Advisory Committee and that a nine-member selection committee reviewed more than 1,100 pages from 15 accepted proposals. The committee conducted demonstrations and ultimately recommended awards to three vendors:
- United Data Technologies — Lenovo Yoga laptops and Brettford cube carts - Bloom — Hovercam mobile teaching stations - Global Asset — single-screen interactive flat panels and IPEVO document cameras
Funding for the procurement comes from Proposition B of the 2023 bond. District staff said deployment will begin in July 2025 for interactive flat panels, teaching stations and document cameras for campuses not under construction; campuses with construction (Smith, Central, Brandenburg and Duncanville High School) will receive equipment in summer 2026 as Phase 2. Approximately 60% of classrooms will receive equipment in the first year and the remaining 40% the following year. Laptop deployment to teachers was scheduled for April–May and professional training for interactive flat panels and document cameras will begin before the end of the school year and continue into the summer and fall.
Why this matters: The award funds a districtwide technology update intended to equip classrooms with modern instructional tools funded by the 2023 bond. The selection committee included teachers, librarians, technology coordinators and special education personnel; district staff emphasized training and a phased rollout to support adoption.
