The board discussed a supplemental-health-care agreement to have a nurse accompany a music trip to California to administer medication. The contract rate in the briefing was $99.50 per hour for local coverage of medication-administration periods; staff clarified they will pay only for administration coverage periods (not travel or housing) and said the district expects the total cost for minimal coverage to be roughly $1,200.
Finance staff described a Webster's Fitness Products quote of $10,813 to outfit the high-school weight room; that purchase would be covered by the Ready to Learn grant. The presenter also listed quotes for language assessments tied to the Seal of Biliteracy (a vendor quote not to exceed $1,500 and an ACTFL assessment quote not to exceed $1,200) and said final details were pending and would be returned to the board for approval.
Board members asked clarifying questions about whether agencies or the district provide required training for PCAs; staff said they will verify agency responsibilities but noted they have negotiated reimbursement for seats in district-provided trainings. The finance committee will meet again on March 24 for further budget review.
