District staff report progress on elementary playground plans and fundraising

District staff told the Mosinee School District Board of Education that planning for a new elementary playground is moving forward and that the project has been added to the district’s 10‑year construction plan.
Jolene (staff member) said the district convened a stakeholder committee including community members, parents, staff and students to review preliminary designs prepared with Lee Recreation. The committee gave feedback and staff are now working to finalize a design and cost estimate. Jolene said the district plans to pursue local fundraising and grant opportunities to help pay for the playground and will present renderings and a fundraising thermometer to the community as the next step.
Why it matters A new playground affects elementary students directly and is part of the district’s multi‑year construction planning. Trustees were told the project is in early design and fundraising stages and that staff will bring a finalized design and cost estimate to the board for future action.
