Council adopted Resolution 2025-35A to honor the Fairport Harbor girls bowling team for finishing second in the 2025 OHSAA Division II state championship and declared the resolution an emergency to allow immediate recognition. The resolution names team members — Mackenzie Pilning, Jillian Justinger, Sophia McLaughlin, Kylie Durst, Lauren McKinney and Kaylee Muzzin — and recognizes head coach Dean Vargo and assistant coaches Jerry Rich and Anthony Evanchuk.
Mayor and councilmembers presented congratulatory remarks and asked for photos and a scroll presentation; the council also read proclamations honoring James Clark as the Fairport Harbor Civic Club’s 2025 Citizen of the Year and posthumously awarded the Golden Beacon to Janice Kondak for long-standing community service. No formal votes were recorded for the proclamations beyond adoption of the bowling-team resolution and ceremonial readings.
