Summary
The commission’s grants team announced FY26 grant rounds — General Operating Support (GOS), East Arts (EA), Projects, Events & Festivals (PEF) — close April 22; a new Capital Projects Large (CPL) RFA opens April 1 with awards from $900,000 to $1.5 million.
The Commission on the Arts and Humanities announced multiple grant opportunities and deadlines during its March 17 meeting, including FY26 operating and project programs and a new capital grant offering.
Tarell Johnson, grants staff, said the FY26 General Operating Support (GOS), East Arts (EA) and Projects, Events & Festivals (PEF) grant programs are open and will close Tuesday, April 22. He reminded applicants about workshops, Friday grant live chats and in‑person office hours on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The commission also announced a new FY25 Capital Projects Large (CPL) grant program. The CPL RFA will open April 1 on the CAH website (dcarts.dc.gov) and will support facility improvements or facility purchases in the District with a tax valuation of at least $1 million. Award amounts will range from a minimum of $900,000 to a maximum of $1.5 million; the funding cycle covers two years (Oct. 1, 2024–Sept. 30, 2026). The CPL closing date was announced as May 6.
Grant managers emphasized panel participation and offered contact points for questions. Staff also noted that applicants who opt into a two‑year agreement for GOS will receive a short form rather than a full application for the FY26 cycle; that form will be available March 28 via the grants portal.
Staff reiterated that CAH will hold multiple workshops and provide in‑person office hours to help applicants complete submissions and to increase accessibility for prospective grantees.
