Committee approves consent agenda including public-health grants, cardiac monitors contract and homeland security grant

The committee approved the proposed consent agenda, adopting seven items that include grants to the Metropolitan Government acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, a sole-source equipment contract, and a homeland security grant for emergency management.

The items read into the record included resolutions to accept grants from (1) Step Ahead Foundation of Bridal Tennessee Inc. for reimbursement of long-acting reversible contraception costs; (2) the Tennessee Department of Health for oral disease prevention services in qualifying K–8 public schools; (3) the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for a Minority AIDS Initiative program for prevention, surveillance, diagnosis and treatment of HIV/AIDS; (4) the Marjorie A.
