Commission asks staff to return with options to recognize former Mayor Skip Hall

Commissioners discussed several recognition options including a plaque, bench, tree or a commemorative brick in a public location such as the library grounds, City Hall foyer or a city park. One commissioner said Marley Park sells commemorative bricks and cited price ranges; staff noted park and library memorial programs and said bench or tree-dedication programs could be explored.
Staff agreed to provide options and dollar figures and to check the commission’s budget and available funds; staff said any final placement and design would depend on budget, donor interest and Parks & Recreation policies. Commissioners also discussed seeking donor or sponsor support for a memorial if the commission’s funds were limited.
The commission did not select a final recognition at the meeting and asked staff to return with formal options and cost estimates at the next meeting.
