Legislative counsel presented a floor amendment to H.243 on March 19 that removes a duplicated section concerning designation of an agent for service of process in the draft business organizations bill. The committee voted to bind the amendment to the bill and find the measure favorable.
Rick (Legislative Counsel) told members the amendment simply removes a duplicate statutory subsection (a duplicate 16‑55 entry at the bottom of page 30 in draft 2.2) so the draft will proceed with a single 16‑55 and a subsequent 16‑56 rather than two 16‑55 sections. Counsel said the underlying fee changes the committee previously approved remain unchanged.
A committee member moved that the committee bind the amendment to H.243 and find the bill favorable as amended; the chair called the voice vote and the amendment passed without recorded opposition in the transcript.
Ending: The technical floor amendment to H.243 was approved and will be included with the bill for floor consideration.
