Key committee actions and votes:
- Gonzales Strength & Associates (survey). The committee authorized a $2,600 contract for survey services to combine two Louvre-area lots so the city can consolidate parcels. Motion passed 5–0.
- Demolition costs at 1509 Beckham Drive. Councilors set a public hearing for March 31 to consider assessing $20,008.33 in demolition costs against the property owner; the motion to set the hearing passed 5–0. Staff said the demolition is complete and the lot stabilized; the hearing gives the owner an opportunity to be heard before the costs are assessed.
- City Hall roof repairs. The committee authorized a contract with a certified roofing contractor to address recent leaks and extend the roof life. The committee approved the repair contract (funding reallocated from debt-service to building maintenance) by a 5–0 vote. (Transcript contained an unclear dollar figure for the quote; staff indicated the expense will be covered from building-maintenance budget lines.)
- EDT Inc. design services and drone parking study. The committee authorized $13,500 for engineering design work for downtown bulb-outs and crosswalk improvements and an additional $1,200 to capture parking occupancy data via drone flights at set times of day. Motion passed 5–0; staff said the work will inform potential paid-parking or parking-management decisions.
- Kimberly Horn amendment — US‑31A project. The committee authorized a $32,009.88 amendment to Kimberly Horn’s contract on the US‑31A corridor project, to be paid from the A‑Trip 2 grant funds; motion approved 4–0 (one member recused or not present for that particular vote as recorded).
- Rezone at 8 Bonita Drive. A planning commission–recommended unfavorable rezone (to permit a two‑story medical office) was formally dropped by motion; the drop passed 5–0.
Committee members asked for clarifying details or follow-up on several items, including documentation for the demolition costs, confirmation of the survey scope and a more explicit budget source for the City Hall roofing work. Those items were recorded as follow-ups and staff confirmed funds exist in the current budget or grant accounts for the respective measures.
The committee recorded formal approvals with motions and seconding votes for each item; most passed unanimously.
