Germantown board pauses village center zoning standards, accepts school district study request and advances TID planning work

The Germantown Village Board on Monday voted to accept a resolution from the Germantown School District asking the village to pause advancement of zoning and development standards for the Village Center at Mequon and Pilgrim Road until the district’s enrollment and facility-use studies are complete, and to incorporate those findings into developer requests and design standards.

The board also voted to ratify an amendment to the scope of services with Ehlers and Associates so the firm may continue work on a proposed tax increment district (TID) for the Village Center. Village staff said the Ehlers work is a separate, technical planning step that does not by itself create a TID or approve specific development.
